Props, Garb, Ritual Items, and Needlepoint for Pagans, Role-Players, and Costumers

Welcome to Lovers Near Gaia

Lovers Near Gaia, an anagram of my name, Lorraine Savage, is the trade name of my arts and crafts enterprise, which I officially opened in April 2008. As a child I was a mix of tomboy and girly girl, equally enjoying catching frogs or sewing crafts.

My designs cover the range of my interests: pagan & goddess, anime & Asia, medieval & fantasy, and costumes & cosplay.

I've had the privilege of showcasing my work at numerous convention art shows and pagan craft fairs, including Arisia (Boston), DragonCon (Atlanta), I-Con (New York), Lunacon (New York), Noreascon (Boston), Anime Boston, WindyCon (Chicago) and Eastern Massachusetts Pagan Pride Day. My Wiccan Calendar won the People's Choice Award at Arisia 2003 and my Dragon Banner won the Best Amateur Textile award at DragonCon 2003.

I also make costumes and garb accessories to wear at conventions, Regency dances, role-playing LARPs, and wicca rituals. My alter egos have been a generic Vampire Lady, Centuari Lady (from Babylon 5), Queen Titania, the goddess Bastet, Captain Harlock, a Star Blazers crewman, Shade the Changing Man, a Jedi, and a Dungeons & Dragons adventurer. I received a Hall Costume award for my Vampire Lady at Bucconeer (Baltimore, 1998) and for a Jedi at Arisia (Boston, 2008), won the "Most Realistic" Award for Bastet at United Fan Con (Mass, 2004), and received a jewelry making award for my Centauri Lady at AgamemCon (California, 2001).

I also ran the international anime fan club Anime Hasshin and edited its 3-time award winning newsletter, The Rose.
